The Eugenia, an old world style architectural beauty, is embodied in a late nineteenth century, colonial-style house, charmingly decorated and tastefully furnished by its owner in the heart of downtown Bangkok for travelers with refined taste who seek to enjoy more than just a touch of the fabled East. Each of the 12-suites of The Eugenia is appointed with antique furniture and fittings.
The 4-poster beds, settees, dressers and desks are of various vintage, as are the light switches and light fittings; they take you back perhaps eighty or a hundred years. The period decoration even extends to the bathtubs that are handmade of beaten copper and aluminum alloy.
As is to be expected of such neo-colonial structures, there is no elevator in the building, to preserve its authenticity. Guests can also choose to travel in style and luxury of a bygone era in one of the several vintage sedans or limousines. |
