Tri Trang Beach Hotels, Phuket Resorts and Thailand Accommodation

This is another one of the beaches in the headland south of Patong. Tri Trang beach is located in a nice and quiet small bay in front of the four star Merlin Beach Resort where only longtailboats to and from Freedom Beach break the silence. From Tri Trang longtail boat cost only about 200 baht per person. A much cheaper alternative than going from Patong Beach. The beach is rather stony and the seabed is rocky right up to the shoreline making it totally unsuitable to bathing.

There are two attractions for this beach. Firstly, when the tide is in there is some good snorkeling. Secondly, it is the closest beach to the much more charming Freedom Beach. You can rent a longtail boat to make the trip from here much cheaper than from Patong. You may need to wait a little for a boat to arrive as they are not always waiting here but you should get one eventually.

While waiting for high tide one can relax under one of the parasols, get some stress relieving Thai massage at one of the open air massage tents or climb up the stairs to grab some food at Goodview restaurant on the coconut palm fringed hill overlooking the beach.

When the tide is in you have to swim 60-80 meters to reach the corals that are to be found both in shallow and deep water. The sea is crystal clear and offer good snorkeling with lots of coral and colorful fish in all sizes. Sometimes tourists on snorkeling trips will keep you company for a while.

To get here take the road up the hill at the most southern end of Patong Beach and drive to you see Merlin Beach Resort. Along the resort a dirt road take you to the back where you can park the bike and walk down to the beach.
